The 2021 American Music Awards are coming soon!
On Sunday (November 21), the AMA will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Cardi B will host this important evening.
This year, Olivia Rodrigo, who was nominated for the first time, received seven nominations, becoming the most nominated artist. "Weekend" ranked second with six nominations. Doja Cat, Bad Bunny and Given tied for five. The show will be broadcast live on ABC at 8pm Eastern Time.
Nominees are selected through "Key Fan Interaction" through bulletin board rankings, streaming, album sales and radio shows. Then, the winner is selected through fan voting through various online and social media voting methods.
AMA created two new categories this year: favorite pop songs and favorite gospel artists and favorite Latin duets/groups.
Many performances and collaborations of various music genres will be held tonight. Earlier this morning, Megan Thee Stallion announced via Twitter that she must withdraw from the scheduled cooperation with BTS.
"I'm very excited to be able to perform with @AMAs and @BTS_official, but due to unexpected personal issues, I can no longer participate," she wrote.
