STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Terror gripped New York City in the autumn of 1960, when the so-called “Sunday Bomber” set off a series of explosions that rattled the five boroughs.

On Oct. 23 of that year, the bomber targeted the Staten Island Ferry’s, catching cops unawares.
