Wal-Mart will not offer an annual pre-sale option for the 2021 holiday this year.
Wal-Mart Customer Service confirmed this information on September 21, 2021. According to the employee, no stores in the United States offer installment services. In addition, the installment payment section of the Wal-Mart website has been deleted.
In the past few years, Wal-Mart has provided installment plans from late August to mid-December. Customers can put aside items with a small deposit, and then pay regularly until the total amount is paid off. At that time, you can pick up the goods from the store. No interest is charged on the product.
"In the past year, as customer needs and shopping habits have changed, we have learned a lot. Last holiday, except for selected jewelry items in select stores, we cancelled seasonal installments from most stores. According to what we have learned, we believe that our payment method provides the right solution for our customers," the store said in a statement shared by Fox8 in Cleveland.
This year, the company provides monthly "buy now, pay later" financial payment options through Affirm.
The Wal-Mart website calls it an “alternative to one-time payment,” which allows you to purchase goods immediately and then pay them off within 3 to 24 months. But it is important to note that unlike pre-sales, Affirm has financial costs. The APR rate for most products will be between 10% and 30%, depending on your credit. Some promotional 0% APR products are also available.
The categories that meet the confirmation conditions include: electronic products, video games, toys, home furnishings, crafts, musical instruments, home decoration, automobiles, sports and outdoor, tools, babies, jewelry, and clothing.
Affirm will not charge late fees, prepaid fees, annual fees or service fees for opening or closing your Affirm account.
Please refer to the details on the Walmart website.
